Semi-Truck Fire Shuts Down Ramp on I-15 in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — A semi-truck fire led to the temporary closure of a collector ramp on I-15 early Monday morning in Salt Lake City.
According to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden, the fire began around 4 a.m. near 2100 South after the truck’s brakes overheated. While the blaze caused some damage to the interstate, officials said it was not severe.
The truck driver was not injured, and no other vehicles were affected.

Emergency crews immediately shut down the 2100 South ramp, but by 8:30 a.m., at least one lane had reopened.
The Utah Department of Transportation warned drivers of potential delays in the area and recommended using alternate routes while cleanup and repairs continue.
