LINDON — Traffic has reopened on northbound I-15 in Lindon after a multi-vehicle accident left three people injured and caused hours of delays on Wednesday.
According to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden, the incident began around 9:15 a.m. when a dump truck traveling north lost a back tire. The tire bounced across the median, striking two cars on southbound I-15. While those vehicles were quickly cleared, the dump truck remained on the freeway shoulder.
At about 11:30 a.m., traffic slowed near the scene, and a passenger car stopped. That car was rear-ended by a semitruck, pushing it into several other vehicles. In total, five vehicles were involved in the second crash.

Roden confirmed that one person was critically injured, another sustained serious injuries, and a third was also hospitalized.
The crash forced northbound I-15 to close at 1600 North, leaving only the HOV lane open. By 3 p.m., all lanes were reopened, but drivers faced significant backups throughout the morning.
