Two motorcyclists killed in head-on crash with box truck Millard

FILLMORE, Utah — A deadly accident in Millard County claimed the lives of two motorcyclists after a box truck crossed into oncoming traffic and struck them head-on.

The crash occurred Monday just before 5 p.m. on State Route 50 near mile marker 136.

According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, a 69-year-old man and his 70-year-old female passenger were riding eastbound on SR-50 when a Ford F250 box truck traveling in the same direction veered into their lanes.

Both motorcyclists were killed on impact in the crash.

The truck’s male driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for evaluation.

Investigators believe speed and possible drowsy driving were contributing factors in the accident.
