Semitruck Fire on I-15 in Levan Quickly Contained
SALT LAKE CITY — Fire crews responded early Wednesday to a semitruck fire on Interstate 15 in Levan that also ignited nearby grass.
According to the Levan Fire Department, the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., when flames from the truck spread to the roadside vegetation. The fire was quickly brought under control, with only a small area of grass burned.

“It could have been much worse,” a department representative said, thanking Nephi crews for keeping E-41 supplied with water, as well as UHP troopers and Juab County deputies for managing traffic during the response.
Officials confirmed the semi was not transporting hazardous materials at the time of the fire.
