Semi-truck pulling car hauler rolls near Tremonton

BOX ELDER COUNTY — A semi-truck accident Sunday afternoon blocked northbound traffic along Interstate-15 for more than three hours, west of Tremonton. The crash was reported at 1:50 p.m. near milepost 379.

Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cade Brenchley said the semi-truck was traveling northbound along I-15 when it drifted off the right shoulder and then over corrected to the left, causing it to lose control and roll onto its side. The truck was pulling a car hauler, loaded with seven vehicles.

The driver told troopers that he had reached over to the passenger seat to grab a drink, causing him to drift off the side of the interstate.

No other vehicles were involved.

The driver was treated at the scene by paramedics for non-life threatening injuries.

Brenchley said it took crews some time to remove all seven vehicles and the semi-truck that were damaged. The northbound lanes were reopened shortly after 5 p.m
