Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Near South Jordan Smith’s Store
SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — A 31-year-old motorcyclist lost his life Tuesday evening following a collision with an SUV in South Jordan.
According to South Jordan Police, the crash occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on Redwood Road, near the Smith’s grocery store at South Jordan Parkway. The motorcyclist was traveling north when an SUV turned left into the store’s parking lot, resulting in a collision.
The rider was transported to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries. Authorities confirmed that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, though it’s still unclear if it was properly secured.
The SUV driver was not injured and is fully cooperating with investigators. Preliminary findings suggest that speed may have contributed to the crash.
