E-Motorcycle Rider Killed in Collision with SUV in Riverton
RIVERTON, Utah — A 21-year-old man was killed early Thursday morning in a crash involving an SUV and an E-motorcycle.
According to Riverton Police spokesperson Josh Lee, the collision occurred just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of 1300 West and 12600 South. The man, whose name has not been released, was riding westbound on the E-motorcycle when the SUV struck him.
He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said the impact pushed the E-motorcycle about 186 feet, suggesting that high speed may have played a role. Investigators also believe one of the vehicles may have run a red light. The crash remains under investigation.

Lee noted an uptick in traffic accidents in recent years and reminded residents that E-motorcycles like the one involved in the incident are not street legal, meaning drivers are generally not expecting to see them on public roads.
