Motorcyclist in critical condition after crash on Mountain View Corridor

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (KUTV) — A motorcyclist is in critical condition after colliding with a passenger vehicle on Mountain View Corridor.
Officers with the West Valley City Police Department were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
A passenger vehicle and a motorcycle were headed northbound near 2700 South when they collided for an unknown reason.
The motorcycle driver was transported to an area hospital.
While John Gleason with the Utah Department of Transportation said the crash turned fatal, the family of the motorcyclist told KUTV 2News they remain in critical condition.
The driver of the passenger vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
The police department suggested drivers avoid the northbound Mountain View Corridor between 3500 and 2700 South and use Bangerter Highway as an alternate route.
