Man Killed in High-Speed Crash That Sparked Brush Fire in Iron County
IRON COUNTY, Utah — A deadly crash early Thursday morning claimed the life of a 22-year-old man and ignited a brush fire along state Route 56.
According to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers first received a report of a fire near Mile Post 11 around 2:43 a.m. While deputies were en route, a second call confirmed the fire had been caused by a single-vehicle accident.
Investigators determined that the driver had been traveling at a very high speed when he lost control of his car. The vehicle left the road and rolled several times before coming to a stop.

Deputies found the driver, Tristin Vandall, near the wreckage and attempted life-saving efforts. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the crash.
