18-Year-Old Dies After Being Hit by TRAX Train in Murray
MURRAY, Utah — An 18-year-old girl died Wednesday afternoon after being hit by a TRAX train in the Salt Lake Valley.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at the Murray Central Station. Officials said the teen was crossing the platform when she stepped in front of an oncoming train. She was wearing headphones at the time and is believed to have been unaware of the approaching train, according to UTA spokesperson Gavin Gustafson.

Emergency crews transported her to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Her identity has not yet been released.
Following the crash, UTA established a bus bridge between the Fashion Place and Murray North stations. Riders on the Red and Blue lines were advised to expect delays of 20–30 minutes.
