HERRIMAN — A 16-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle in Herriman on Friday night and rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition, according to police.
The Herriman City Police Department reported that the crash happened around 9:35 p.m. on Teton Ranch Drive.
“First responders located a 16-year-old male with significant injuries. Paramedics from Unified Fire Authority and South Jordan Fire Department provided medical care, and the teen was transported by air ambulance to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition,” officials said in a statement.
Preliminary findings from investigators indicate the teen and two other juveniles had been driving around the area before the accident. At one point, the boy exited the vehicle and was then struck.
“Contributing factors leading to the crash are still under review, but at this time, evidence suggests the driver did not see the victim in front of the car,” police noted.

Authorities confirmed that a juvenile female was behind the wheel, with another juvenile male passenger also in the vehicle. Both remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
Family members identified the victim as Carson Davies, 16. They shared photos and described him as “an amazing son, brother, uncle, and friend” who loves music, football, and life in general.
“You’ll always catch him in a swaggy outfit with his favorite shades. He is always smiling, making people laugh, and making those around him feel important and loved,” the family wrote.
According to a GoFundMe set up to support his recovery, Davies had attended a high school football game earlier that evening before the accident. He is now receiving treatment at Primary Children’s Hospital.
“We know he is in good hands, but Carson is facing multiple traumatic injuries. Any contribution will help ease the financial burden while the family focuses entirely on his recovery. Please keep Carson in your thoughts and prayers as he continues to fight hard in the ICU,” the statement said.
